| The Hawks were eager to move Johnson, despite his talent, because of the money remaining on the six-year, max contract he signed with the Hawks back in 2010. Atlanta offered him the deal in order to keep him from reuniting Mike D’Antoni and Amar’e Stoudemire, who he played for and with in Phoenix, with the Knicks. Johnson is owed roughly $90 million over the next four years.
