There were many more laughs than tears at the memorial tribute hosted by Dick Cavett for Gore Vidal yesterday at Broadway’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, reports The Post’s Frank Scheck. A gallery of friends and colleagues paid tribute to the late author, mainly through his own words and pin-sharp one-liners. Susan Sarandon related the parenting advice he gave her: “Darling, it’s inevitable that you give your child neuroses. Just make sure they’re productive ones.”
