“For us, going into training camp with no controversy, no big headlines, answering questions about things that aren’t important to the team becoming better, that’s when you get distracted,’’ Manning said. “It’s kind of an annoyance, answering the same questions over and over again about something that is not truly important to the team is when it can bring down a team or cause friction or just cause controversy. I think it’s about keeping your mindset focused on improving, getting better, the work you have to do to make sure you’re helping out the team, that’s what our focus is on. We can keep our focus on that throughout this training camp and avoid any major distractions.
